Saugus, formerly of Orient Heights - Mr. William R. Ferrara, age 82, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 26 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Reardon) Ferrara.
Born and raised in East Boston, he was the son of the late Louis and Margaret (Lewis) Ferrara. A fleet service agent for American Airlines for over 35 years, Mr. Ferrara most recently worked for the Saugus School System as a crossing guard at the Waybright School. He enjoyed boating, camping, spending time with family and friends. Mr. Ferrara was a frequent visitor to one of his favorite places Newburyport.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Ferrara of Saugus. He was the brother of the late Elliot Ferrara. Mr. Ferrara is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS, on Tuesday 4-8 p.m., relatives and friends are invited. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
