Saugus- Mr. Stanley J. Norkum, age 67, died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose on Wednesday, July 4th. He was the loving husband of Marissa (Hailer) Norkum with whom he shared 37 years of marriage.

Born in Malden and raised in Saugus, Stanley was the son of the late Stanley J. and Rosa (Fenochietti) Norkum. Mr. Norkum was a machinist for General Electric having retired in 2011 after 39 years there. He was also a member of the Reedy Meadow’s Golf League and loved nature, particularly the White Mountains. He was an avid golfer, devoted husband and family man, proud papa and loyal friend. His thoughtfulness, sense of humor, charm, generosity, willingness to always help another and caring heart made him truly one of a kind.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Norkum is survived by his five beloved children, James Norkum and his wife Barbara of North Reading, Jenna Albano and her husband Chris of North Reading, Kathleen Crowley and her husband Robert of Saugus, Christine Hourihan and her husband Tim of Northbridge and Gregory Thurell of CA.; nine cherished grandchildren, Amy and Paige Norkum, Lily and Nick Albano, Jackson and Tyler Crowley, Colin, Ryan and Emily Hourihan; three sisters, Marlene MacDonald of Lynn, Judy Perullo of Saugus, Nancy DeGiacomo of Lynn; one brother, Dennis Norkum of Saugus.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10:30 a.m.
