Rosa (Barbaro) Tirrusa, age 79, of Saugus, formerly of East Boston, died Friday July 26th, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Salemi, Sicily she was the daughter of Giuseppe Barbaro and Rosalia (Renda) Barbaro. She was the beloved wife of Biagio Tirrusa with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Rosa was the mother of the late Joseph A. Tirrusa, and John Tirrusa and his wife Linda of Middleton. Cherished grandmother of Nick, Victoria, and Sabrina who she adored.
Rosa was a well known seamstress and for many years worked at Bonwit Tellers, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue where she retired in 2008. She enjoyed altering clothes for her friends and family as well as cooking and spending good times with them. She is survived by many relatives and wonderful friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave, Saugus, on Monday 4-8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St.Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere Street, Revere at 11 a.m. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
