Saugus- Mr. Robert W. Buontempo, Sr., age 87, died on March 2nd at Winchester Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jennie (Zuffante) Buontempo.

Born and raised in Boston, Mr. Buontempo was the son of the late Pasquale and Anna (Lentini) Buontempo. Robert was a retired Postal Worker from the South Boston Postal Annex. He also owned his own barbershop and worked as rigger. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Buontempo is survived by his four beloved children, Debra Surette of Peabody, Patricia Verrengia of NH, Robert W. Buotempo, Jr. of NH, David Buontempo of FL; six cherished grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Buontempo of NH. He was predeceased by one brother, Richard Buontempo and one sister Florence Rapino.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at

Relatives and friends are invited to attend an hour of visitation on Wednesday 11 a.m. - noon. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at noon. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park.
