SAUGUS - Mrs. Norma F. (Cochrane) Bennett, 90 years, died on Monday, August 16th at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody. She was predeceased by her best friend and loving husband, Parker G. Bennett.
Born and raised in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Barbara (Herget) Cochrane. A lifelong resident of Saugus, she worked as a sales associate at several local businesses. Mrs. Bennett loved reading mysteries, traveling, doing crossword puzzles & crocheting afghans for each of her newborn grandchildren.
Mrs. Bennett was a devoted mother to her four daughters, Norma Woolf and her husband Tom of OH, Terry Ash and her husband Larry of Saugus, Linda Hussey and her husband Bob of Danvers, Jeanne Andrus and her husband Larry of Danvers. She was beloved "Nana" to 14 grandchildren and "Nanny" to her 7 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Kenneth Cochrane and two sisters, Marjorie Whorf and Carol Pelletier.
Funeral from the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Thursday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 11 a.m. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
