- Mr. John J. Kaminski, Sr., age 81, died Saturday at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Glebus) Kaminski.
Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Stanislaus and Anna (Lepkowski) Kaminski and lived in Saugus since 1954.
John was a contractor and builder and owner of Bay State Renovations. He also was the former co-owner of the Tumble Inn Restaurant in Saugus and was a U. S. Army Veteran of Korea.
Besides his wife he leaves three sons, John J. "Jay" Kaminski Jr., MD of Rye, NH, Richard Kaminski of Salisbury, Capt. Thomas Kaminski, Saugus F.D. and his wife Katie of Saugus; one daughter, Karen Caires and her husband Matt of Chelmsford; two brothers, Walter Kaminski of FL, Robert Kaminski of Peabody; four sisters, Jeanne Zimmerman, Sandy Cameron both of CA, Dorothy Crosby of VA, Martha Barros of FL and 10 cherished grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Stanley Kaminski and two sisters, Sophie Socha & Helene Shebak.
Service Information: His funeral will be held from the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Saugus. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to www.woundedwarriorproject.org or the charity of your choice.
