Peabody, formerly of Saugus - Mrs. Irene L. (Borys) Crowell, age 100, died at Brooksby Village in Peabody on Wednesday, February 26th, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Ronald G. Crowell.
Born in Lynn and raised in Saugus, Mrs. Crowell was the daughter of the late Longin and Veronica Borys. A graduate of Saugus High School, Irene had worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Heck Allen’s in Saugus which was owned by a family member. She was also a licensed realtor and moved to Peabody in 2007.
Mrs. Crowell is survived by her three children, David Crowell and his wife Suzanne, Ronald Crowell and his wife Ann Marie, Kevin Crowell and his wife Nancy; seven grandchildren, David Crowell, Ronald Crowell, Valerie Bridge and her husband Craig, Mark Crowell and his wife Andrea, Dianna O’Sullivan and her husband Ryan, Elizabeth Crowell, Thomas Crowell; twelve great-grandchildren, Kiela Bridge, Seth Bridge, Heather Bridge, Jeremy Bridge, Jake Hodgdon, Mikayla Crowell, Emelia Crowell, Silas Crowell, Chase O’Sullivan, Sean O’Sullivan, Kyle O’Sullivan, Gwendolyn Fletcher. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Julie Fletcher and Brian Crowell; two brothers and 7 sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend an hour of visitation in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Saturday from 9 -10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
