Gerald “Jerry” Guerrini died after a brief illness in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on November 1 at the age of 93. He was the husband of the late Marie (Purciello) Guerrini.
Jerry was born in East Boston, MA and graduated from Boston Technical School with a degree in Civil Engineering. After serving his country as a Sergeant in World War II where he faced combat in France and Germany, he married his high school sweetheart Marie in 1948.
Jerry worked for The Commonwealth of Massachusetts MDC Water Division as Superintendent of the Wachusett Reservoir in Clinton, MA.
Jerry and Marie were married for 69 years and were devoted to their family raising 3 children and cherishing/spoiling 5 grandchildren (Paul and Richard Loud and Alexa and Olivia Guerrini all of North Carolina and Brandon Muise of Wakefield) who affectionately called him Papa. They loved traveling and had a wonderful close group of neighborhood friends that played cards faithfully every week for over 30 years.
Jerry was a member of the Lions Club, DAV, and was accomplished at photography and had a hobby of woodworking. He was well known for his sense of humor which even those who just met him appreciated.
In addition to his beloved grandchildren, Jerry is survived by his daughter Diane Loud and her husband Paul of Saugus, MA , his son James Guerrini and his wife Amy of Clemmons, NC, and his son-in-law, Charles Muise of Wakefield. He is preceded in death by his daughter Jodi Muise, brother, Onofrio J. Guerrini, and sisters, Olga Guerrini and Lea O. Kelly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus on Tuesday, November 13, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
