Saugus- Mr. Edgar J. Rogers, age 87, died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose on Tuesday, January 21st. He was the husband of the late Beverly (Buckland) Rogers and shared many years of marriage.
Born in East Boston and raised in Everett. Mr. Rogers was the son of the late Edgar J. and Dorothy (Dame) Rogers. He was an auto mechanic for over 40 years and was the former owner of Saugus Service Center on Lincoln Ave. He was also a member of the North Shore Old Car Club. Edgar had been a Saugus resident for over 50 years.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his two children, Daniel V. Rogers and his wife Danielle of Boston, Deborah A. Comeau of Saugus; two grandchildren, Karina and Dylan; three brothers, George, Ernie and John Rogers. He was predeceased by four siblings, Richie and Bobby Rogers, Dorothy Mackey and Regina DiGregorio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home on Sunday, 4-8 p.m. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of The Assumption Church, 17 Grove St., Lynnfield at 11 a.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery in Saugus.
