Mrs. Dorothy P. (Wall) Coffey, Age 88, died unexpectedly on Saturday at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Coffey.
Born in Ct., she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Helen (Russell) Wall, and has lived in Saugus since 1951.
Mrs. Coffey was a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at the former Boston City Hospital and the former Saugus General Hospital. She also was a member of the S/Sgt. Arthur F. DeFranzo Post 2346 V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children; Charles "Dennis" Coffey of Kansas, John W. Coffey, Jr. of Lowell & Karen B. Coffey of Saugus; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Coffey Olds, three brothers and one sister.
The funeral will be held from the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus on Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Margaret's Church, 431 Lincoln Ave., Saugus at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday form 4-8 p.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
