Of Saugus, formerly of Dorchester, Mrs. Dorothy M. (O’Hara) McGrath, age 76, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, on Sunday, November 25th. She was the adored wife of the late Paul F. McGrath with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

Born and raised in East Boston, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Det. James E. and Dorothy M. (Breault) O’Hara. She worked as an Office Administrator in the Breast Cancer Center at Massachusetts General Hospital for many years.

Mrs. McGrath is survived by her six children, Paul F. McGrath, Jr. and his wife BethAnn of NJ, Sheila Firth of Peabody, Sean McGrath of Saugus, Timothy McGrath and his wife Rita of Watertown, Christopher McGrath of Nahant, Jamie McGrath and her husband Nicholas Smith of Saugus; five grandchildren, Ashley and Robert Firth, Elizabeth, Dorothy and Jacqueline McGrath; three sisters, Carol Pepi of Winthrop, Leona Orlando of Revere, Patricia D’Addario of NH; one brother, Kevin O’Hara of NH. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by two brothers, James and Richard O’Hara.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10 a.m.
