Saugus formerly of Charlestown - Ms. Dorene Lewey, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, March 11th at home. She was the loving wife of Mark Cheever with whom she shared 36 years of marriage.

Born in Boston and raised in Charlestown, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Irene (Mento) Lewey. Ms. Lewey was a 1968 Charlestown High School graduate and worked as a receptionist for Weight Watchers. A forty-year resident of Saugus, Ms. Lewey had many interests that included bowling at Metro Bowl in Peabody, Mic Mac family heritage, visiting Mohegan Sun and traveling. She also had a great love of animals.

Ms. Lewey is survived by two sons, Jonathan Cheever of UT and Derek Cheever and his wife Hannah of Peabody; five siblings, Jo Russo of PA, Robert Lewey and his wife Solange of Haverhill, William Lewey and his wife June of Revere, Lori Lewey of Charlestown and Michael Lewey of Charlestown and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends visiting hours have been eliminated due to Health Department guidelines. Due to the corona virus restrictions a private funeral will be celebrated for the family.
