Obituary

Both of Saugus, both formerly of Winthrop passed peacefully surrounded by loving family at home; Don on Thursday, December 27th, Marie on December 30th. They shared 62 years of marriage together, raised six children together surrounded by wonderful neighbors on Pleasant Street, loved their fifteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren together and are now together for eternity.

Don was born in East Boston and 1952 graduate of Winthrop High School, Mr. Trainor was the son of the late James and Ann (Cotter) Trainor. He had been a resident of Saugus for 57 years. Don was an Army Veteran, graduate of Northeastern University, and retired Senior V.P. of Fairfield and Ellis Insurance. He was active in the Saugus community having been an Usher at Blessed Sacrament Church and V.P. of the Saugus Boosters, where he had been a member since 1976.

Marie was born in Winthrop and 1953 graduate of Winthrop High School, Mrs. Trainor was the daughter of the late Josephine and Dominic Cardillo. She had been a resident of Saugus for 57 years. Marie was active in the Sodality at Blessed Sacrament Church and a fan of Saugus sports teams.

They are survived by six children, Cherie Gaudet, Diane Sullivan and husband Jay, Don Trainor, Jr. and wife Sharon, all of Saugus, Karen Knowles of Concord, NH, Tom Trainor and wife Dawn, Maureen McLaughlin and husband Chuck both of Saugus, fifteen grandchildren, Nicole Connolly, Kristin Markley, Ray Gaudet, Tom Sullivan, Jesse Sullivan, Casey Trainor, Tyler Trainor, Kylie Trainor, Hana Knowles, Jacob Knowles, Taylor Trainor, Tommy Trainor, Jack Trainor, Haley McLaughlin and Kyle McLaughlin, and six great-grandchildren, Ava, Caden, Mya, Audriana, Natalia, Christina. Don is survived by two loving sisters, Ann Knowles and Isabel Safrine both of Salisbury. He was predeceased by his five brothers, James Edmund, Jr., Frederick, Walter, Thomas & Robert Trainor. Marie is survived by her sister, Alice Haskell of Winthrop and predeceased by her sister, Joanne Capprini also of Winthrop.

In lieu of flowers, donations in their memory may be made to the Saugus Boosters Club, P.O. Box 1171, Saugus, MA 01906.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10 a.m. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
