Mrs. Debra “Deej” McDonald (Henry) died unexpectedly on January 12th, 2020 at the age of 67.
Debra is survived by her mother, Shirley Henry; husband, Paul; son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Tiffini; her daughter, Lauren; her siblings, Fred Henry Jr. and wife Victoria; Terry Henry and wife Becky; and Robert Henry and wife Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her father, Fred Henry.
Debra was born on June 2nd, 1952 in Pompano Beach, Florida to Fred and Shirley Henry. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1970. She moved to Revere, Massachusetts in 1978. Debra then married Paul McDonald in October 1984. She recently retired from Sports Medicine North where she worked for the last twenty years.
Debra and Paul welcomed two children - Darin and Lauren. They remember her as a compassionate, empathetic and very driven mother who encouraged them to pursue their educational and teaching goals.
Debra’s hobbies included working out, sewing/knitting, keeping busy, escaping the Massachusetts winters, walking the beach, and caring for her dogs - Rebel and Luci. She recently completed her certification as a Pharmacy Technician during her retirement years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Sunday from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart Church, 571 Boston St., Lynn at 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow at Spinelli’s Function Facility (10 Newbury Street, Peabody MA) at 12:00 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Deej’s life.
