Saugus - Mr. Billy Ray Barton, age 85, died peacefully in his home on Friday, October 26th.

Born and raised in Waco, Texas he was the son of the late Willie E. Barton and Frances (Koval) Barton. During his time serving in the United States Navy, Mr. Barton met his wife “Bunny” (Walker) Barton. Together they have resided in Saugus for the last 60 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Steven Barton and his wife Marrie of NH, Scott Barton of Saugus, Terri Harvey and her husband Tim of Saugus & Tracey Barton of Salem; four grandchildren, Melissa MCBride and her husband Andrew, Nicole Roberts and her husband Stephen, Christopher Barton, Sheena Hogan and her husband Justin; three great grandchildren, Hannah, Evelyn and Harper. He was the brother of Johnny Barton & Elaine “Lanie” Gentry of TX.

Billy was as a proud member of the Saugus Elks and he was an avid watcher of golf and all of the Boston sports teams. He also enjoyed cooking, especially southern BBQ and his famous brisket, as well as spending time with his loving family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave, Saugus, on Thursday 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11am.
