Benny Ficociello, 87 of Saugus, died peacefully Sunday morning. He was the loving husband of Christine (Pirrello) Ficociello with whom he shared over 62 years of marriage.
Born in the North End of Boston, he was the son of the late Benigno and Mary (DeAngelis) Ficociello. He was raised in the North End of Boston and lived in Saugus for 59 years. Benny worked as a Highway Foreman for the Town of Saugus DPW for 28 years. He was also a life member of the Sgt. Arthur F. DeFranzo post 2346 VFW and a charter member of the Saugus ITAM.
Benny was a veteran of the Korean War, who served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1954.
Benny enjoyed watching all of Boston’s professional sports teams and he especially enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox. His favorite endeavor though was spending time with family and friends, either at cookouts, holiday gatherings or “pasta night,” he enjoyed sharing in all their activities.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two beloved children Maria McLoughlin and her husband Kevin and Bennett Ficociello and his wife Lorene. He is also survived by 9 cherished grandsons and 3 great grandsons; two dear sisters, Teresa Storella and Evelyn Ficociello; and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by brothers Michael Ficociello, Louis Ficociello and sisters Gilda Liggiero and Louise Ficociello.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
